Ilkay Can Standard
Ilkay Can-Standard is an architect/ technologist and the founder of GenX Consultants. Her team is focusing on helping Architects, Engineers and Construction Companies to transition to BIM by using the most effective and tested strategies. GenX represents a generation of architects/engineers who have field experience and are leaders in technology.
She has highly skilled teams in New Jersey, New York, Istanbul, Ankara, Beijing and Shanghai. Their goal is to improve how we build and construct our cities.
Ilkay previously worked as an Associate Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates NY Office. During her time at KPF, she has worked on award-winning projects both locally and internationally – including the Ziraat Bank Headquarters in Istanbul, and the mixed-use project SOHO Tianshan Plaza in Shanghai, mixed-use project for Tishman Speyer ‘American Center’ in Shanghai and NYCHA Red Hook Houses in Brooklyn, NY.
Currently she the Chair of Future Leaders Committe of Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) for the Global Platform. Previously she was the co-chair of Future Leaders Committee where she has fostered an open dialog between architects, engineers, developers, and academia to develop responsible buildings and cities.
Her passion to learn non-stop has been the driving force behind more then 40 professional lectures , panels over the past years and going strong today.
